Here's how to send a password reset email to a user in Form LMS, for example when they have forgotten their password.
✅ Before you start: You need the Admin or Manager role. Managers can only send a password reset to users in the organisation units assigned to them.
Send a password reset
- Go to People → Users.
- Find the user. The option is only available for users with the status Active.
- Click the ⋮ menu on the user's row, then select Send password reset.
- In the Send password reset? window, click Continue. To stop, click Cancel.
You'll see a Password reset sent message. The user receives an email with instructions and a unique code to reset their password.
💡 Tip: To change your own password, see Reset your password. You can't send a password reset to your own account from the Users list.
Something not working?
The user signs in with single sign-on (SSO). If every workspace the user can sign in to requires SSO, they have no Form password to reset. Form shows a message saying a password reset isn't available, so ask them to sign in with your organisation's SSO.
You can't find the user. Managers only see users in the organisation units they manage. Also check the Status filter, which shows Active users by default.
The user hasn't accepted their invitation yet. Send password reset doesn't appear for invited users. Resend their invitation instead, as described in Manage invited users.
