Enrol one or more learners onto a course, either by selecting them from a list or uploading a CSV file.
✅ Before you start: You need the Admin or Manager role. The course must be set to Active.
Choose your method:
- Enrol from a list - select individual learners or use filters
- Enrol using a CSV file - bulk upload by email address
Enrol learners from a list
- Go to Catalogue → Courses.
- Find the course, click the ⁝ menu, and select Enrol learners.
- Confirm the course and click Next.
- Select Select from list.
- Tick the checkbox next to each learner you want to enrol. Use the filters at the top to narrow by organisation unit, role, or name. Then click Next.
💡 Tip: If you need to select all learners across multiple pages, tick the Select all checkbox at the top of the list, then click Select all [number] users eligible for this action.
- Form validates the course and learners. Review any skipped learners, then click Start enrolment.
- Confirm the total in the popup and click Start enrolment.
The enrolment is queued and processed. You'll see a progress screen, followed by a confirmation when complete.
💡 Tip: Click View summary to see a breakdown of successful enrolments, failures, and skipped items. You can download the results as a CSV from the top right of the summary screen.
Enrol learners using a CSV file
- Follow steps 1-3 above, then select Upload CSV.
- Click Download template to get the CSV template.
- Add your learners' email addresses to the template and save it.
- Click Upload and select your completed file.
- The upload is confirmed. Click Next.
- Review the validation results and click Start enrolment.
The enrolment process is the same as above. You'll see the progress screen and a confirmation when complete.
Something not working?
Can't find the learner? Check that their account is active and that your filters aren't too narrow. Try searching by email address instead of name.
Learner can't see the course after enrolment? Make sure the course status is Active (not Draft or Hidden). Check the enrolment start date is not set in the future. See Enrolment States - Definitions for more on enrolment statuses.
Enrolment failed or was skipped? Click View summary on the completion screen to see why. Common reasons include duplicate enrolments, inactive accounts, or insufficient licences.
