Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds extra security by requiring a verification code after you enter your password.
✅ Before you start: You need a two-factor authentication app installed on a mobile device (for example, Google Authenticator). Use a secure device.
Enable two-factor authentication
- Click your initials in the top right of Form LMS.
- Select Security.
- Click Enable Two-factor Authentication.
- Open the authenticator app on your mobile device and scan the QR code displayed on screen.
- Enter the verification code from your app into the verification code field.
- Click Verify and update.
Two-factor authentication is now enabled. The next time you log in, Form asks for a code from your authenticator app.
ℹ️ Note: Your authenticator app may require its own steps, such as adding a new account.
Disable two-factor authentication
If you no longer want 2FA, click Disable two-factor authentication in Security. Your account will no longer require a verification code at login.
2FA and Single Sign-on (SSO)
Learners can use either SSO or 2FA, but not both at the same time. If SSO is selected at login, Form ignores 2FA settings.
When you use SSO:
- Form redirects you to your organisation's authentication system after validating your email.
- Your organisation's security rules apply.
- Any login settings configured in Form (such as 2FA) are ignored.
SSO is not enforced. You can always use standard authentication (email and password). This means an organisation can use SSO for users within its network and standard authentication with 2FA for those outside it.
2FA is also optional. It is available for you to enable at your discretion.
