Overview
Direct appraiser (DA) is a system role which can be assigned to a learner account by administrators who have permission to add users. A direct appraiser will usually be someone who is responsible for overseeing the training of others (e.g. a manager).
Through Manage direct appraiser privileges, administrators are able to determine how much autonomy direct appraisers have with in the system.
Access Manage direct appraiser privileges through the Setup menu.
From here select which privileges are to be applied to learners with the direct appraiser role and rights which learners require with respect to direct appraisers.
It is possible to choose whether direct appraisers can add their own appraisees (if this is disabled appraisees can only be assigned by administrators), whether direct appraisers are able to select appraisees from sectors and services other than their own and whether they are able to select learners who currently have direct appraisers.
If a direct appraiser assigns them self an appraisee who already has a direct appraiser they will receive the following notification advising appraisees will be reassigned to them:
Learner rights can be configured so they are able to remove their direct appraiser, select a direct appraiser and to select direct appraisers from sectors and services other than their own.
